- Family teamwork to the max
- Being teased on the CB's and not being able to defend oneself because "oneself's" CB isn't working :)
- Feeling close to your family
- Watching the sun go down nearly every night for weeks in a row
- Sitting 'round and doing nothing one second.... then being in an insane rush the next
- Racing certain family members across the field with tractor and combine ("winks" to gramps :)
- Playing hide-and-seek with little brother in the tall slough grass when we are parked beside it
- Listening to the sounds of the night
- Reading story after story to siblings
- Reading to myself for hours on end while waiting for the combines to fill up
- Rushing to get canning done in the morning so that you are free to combine in the afternoon
- No air conditioner
- Sweaty
- Dusty
- Itchy
- No complaining even though every single person has lots that they could complain about
- Coming inside at midnight to find your sisters watching a movie, then sitting down to help them finish watching it... being too tired to sleep
- Being extra specially glad to see the F-350 coming into view around suppertime
- Chorusing our "very good's" on the CB to the girls at home whom ALWAYS made VERY GOOD meals
- Seeing the joy on toddlers' face as they ride in the combine with Grandpa/Daddy
- Hearing little brother say "when I grow up I want to be a grain cart driver"
And last but certainly not least
Harvest is.....
DONE!!!!
