A couple of weeks ago, we decided to go to the Austin Threserman's Reunion in um... Austin. :)
We took along some grandparents for added funness... and funness was had!!
I took LOADS of pictures... so be prepared for a lengthy post!
Riding the shuttle...
Looking at the cars that were going to be in the parade later on...
Looking through historic buildings...
When we came out of one of the buildings, my ever so blonde little sister Mikaya looked up at me and said "Jen!! Look, those flowers are STILL alive!!"
Upon seeing this dude, Zach exclaimed "I didn't know that Pastor Tony preached here!!"
Breaking for lunch...
Watching the parade...
I say "look at me"
I say "now look like you love each other"
I say "please" :)
After the parade there was a threshing race.
Never heard of a threshing race??
Weeeell then let me tell you how it works....
First they had to turn the steam engines around and get the belt on....
Once they were ready others were able to unhook their horses from the back of the wagons and hitch them up in the front...
Then it was off to load the stooks of grain...
Then the race to the harvesters to harvest the grain....
The race only lasted under ten min!
After the race we went to see the field work demonstration...
Took a walk through "town"....
Got some ice cream (and promptly ate it on the porch of the post office :)...
And then twas home again, home again!
