Tag Time!

Wow, that week goes by fast!

Life has been busy. We have got a couple of birthdays coming up in our family this week (mine included... advancing to the ripe old age of twenty-four. Time, would you do me a favor and stop passing so quickly?!?!).
I hadn't the slightest idea what to post today, and so I am going to do this tag that has been making it's rounds on Facebook.

Speaking of Facebook. Let me take a moment to acknowledge all of my readers that come visiting from that vein of social media. Thank you for taking the time to click on the link that I post to my parent's (yes, I did say my parent's, I am staying off the social media train for as long as possible. ;) Facebook page. Manitoba Stampede

I finally got my camera fixed!! Just in time for our visit to the Manitoba Stampede. :)
Me, I love rodeos. This day is always one of the highlights of my year. It was great as always!

This picture was taken right before the bull rider went flying through the air. My camera decided that it didn't want to take pictures during those few seconds, though my finger was pressing the shutter button rapidly. The rider was okay, I think. He got up quickly and ran to the gate anyway. :)

That's it, that's all!
Till next time...

These Summer Days

Wow, that week flew by.
This summer actually, is flying by faster then should be allowed.
We have spent the last three weekends camping, so basically our life has been a lot of packing and unpacking bookending those four fun filled days spent playing in the water and just having a blast being together. We recently acquired a pair of water skis and a wakeboard, it has been lots of fun trying to figure out how to use them. :)
My favourite thing is Slalom skiing which is (for those who may not know) using just one ski. I wish I had some pictures to share, but I went on a picture-taking strike and spent the time just enjoying the moments.
Anyway. The picture above is my favourite summer drink that I just rediscovered today.
The best part about it is that it has no calories in it... yet it tastes like I am being a big ole cheat.
Because I like lemonade.
Lots and lots.
The second best part is that it is super easy, just throw ice, water, lemon juice, and truvia into a blender, add a few strawberries to make it look pretty, and drink up!

Well, that was my little weekly pop-in.
Off now to soak up some more summery goodness.

Camping Vlog

Hey all!
Well, I did it again... another vlog! :)
This one I took while we went camping last weekend. It is super long, but I made it as short as possible with the almost-80 videos I took. :)
I had a few issues with the volume of a few of the clips, it sounded fine when I was finished last night, but I noticed after uploading that some of the music was to loud and some of the clips were to quiet. I didn't want to have to go through the uploading process again... so I just left it as is. (Sorry about the volume adjustments you will have to make.)
A-NY-WAY. I have so much fun making these vlogs because I find it easy to be true to who I am, and it is fun to give you all a glimpse of what life with my huge (amazing!) family looks like.
I hope you all enjoy it!!

Throw A Stone

Kerri showed me this song by Cody Carnes the other day and it really played in harmony with some of the thoughts I have been thinking lately.
I have been saddened to see all of the judgement and hatred that has been going around by Christians to those who they believe are living in sin, or have sinned in the past. Somehow some of us think that it is our job to judge other's lives and pour down condemnation on the ones that we think are not acting the way that they ought to.
We often assume we have two choices. Join them, or judge them.
Really, all that we are called to do is to love people to Jesus. To be like Jesus, and to draw people to Him by showing them how much they are loved by Him.
Hatred is not going to win over any souls, it is only going to drive them farther away from love.

In our family, we tell the kids not to worry about what their siblings are doing wrong, but to rather worry about their hearts and to make sure that they themselves are doing the right thing. To focus on their personal relationship with God.
I think that as Christians we sometimes forget that in the end what is going to matter is how we lived our lives before God. How we reacted in our own hearts to situations, and how we loved others.
Love is powerful. Lets leave the judging up to God, and start living out what He has called us to.

I picked up a magazine today
Read a story 'bout the hate
That's spreading 'cross the world
I saw a word that I've become fond of
That I've become a part of
That I've been drawn to because of love

It said Christians are pouring out the hatred
And calling it sacred
And spitting in faces
That's not right, that's not right
That's not hope
That's not the Jesus I know

I don't agree with everyone's mistakes
But that's no excuse for hate
'cause I can't justify my place to throw a stone
Oh 'cause we're all just the same
We're in desperate need of grace
And it's the mercy of our God that saved our souls

So why are Christians pouring out the hatred
And calling it sacred
And spitting in faces
That's not right, that's not right
That's not hope
That's not the Jesus I know

I was dirty and he looked me in the face
And said "Boy don't be ashamed. Your sins are washed away."
I was dirty and he looked me in the face
And said "Boy don't be ashamed. Your sins are washed away. Come home."

That's the Jesus I know
That's the Jesus I know
That's the Jesus I know
I want to be like the Jesus I know
I want to be like the Jesus I know
Come on let's be like the Jesus we know
