Happy Birthday Grandma!!

Today is my Grandma's birthday. I won't tell you how old she is... just because.... ummm.... I actually forget how old she is turning! :)
Ah, where to begin. My Grandma is amazing. There really are not words to sum up how much I love her and how much I appreciate her. But I'll try my bestest by telling you some of my favourite things about her.

First I can say that Grandma is cute... no wait, she is ADORABLE. I think she is the cutest Grandma alive :)
She dresses in bright colors, wears high ponytails, cool hats... and oh my word, hello! CUTE SMILE!!

My Grandma LOVES my Grandpa. She is an AMAZING helpmeet,  and wow, they are just so cute together :) They are both such an amazing example and are living proof that love grows with age! :)

I LOVE it that Grandma (who is 60... something) still plays hockey with us! She doesn't skate, but has some AMAZING goalie skills! She is in with the best of them! :)

She is absolutly BEEEEEAutiful!!

She is active, meaning that she plays games, takes walks and oodles of other fun stuff :)
Her and Grandpa love to take walks together in the early morning.

My most favorite thing about Grandma is that she loves the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. And it shows in the way she lives. She is our prayer warrior and anytime we need prayer for something or someone, we call her up. She is an amazing example to me, and I love her for it.

 I LOVE you Grams!!!!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Love Jenny ♥

Breaking the Silence

Well, once again I have left you all postless, I've been silent... just plain old blah.
Once again it is all in the name of busyness! Things have been kinda crazy around here as we have been trying to get seeding, tilling, mowing and gardening done before we get another dump of rain.
Everything around here is REALLY wet as we've been having lots of rain lately... but we thank God that we have been able to get most of our crops in already!

Today us girls were busy putting the garden. Like I already said.. it was WET. But we just needed to get it in, because we were not sure when we would have a chance to get into the garden again. We got it all in except for a few rows of potatoes. So we is happy :)

This picture is proof that I was working today... oh and that I'm still alive and hope to be more "blog able" soonish :)

And these are pictures that I took of Jade today. He was making all sorts of funny faces, so I picked up Meg's camera *gasp* and snapped some pictures.

Ain't he just cute?!?!?!
That's what I though :)

Hope you all had a great Thursday!

Free!!

Yesterday my big bro Josh fixed the pasture fence so we were able to put the horses out to pasture! I LOVE to watch my horses buck and gallop around as FINALLY after a LONG winter they are able to get out of their stuffy pen and run FREE. They are happy... and that makes me happy :)

Megan deemed these pictures to not be good enough to put on her photography blog... so I stole em' :) Pictures can't really describe how beautiful the horses are as the run and jump, but I couldn't help but give you a little glimpse!

RUN, RUN.... RUN!!!

YEAH!!! WE ARE FREE!!!

Sierra

Sierra's nose... yummy grass :)

My beautiful Princess

Picker just could not get enough of the grass!

Are you kidding meeee?!?! This is FUN!!

I've come across a few people who have asked the question "do you like living in a large family?" and I can tell that they expect me to answer in the negitive, or at least complain a bit about how much work it is or how I never get time for myself.

Some of you may see having a big family as work, work, work... AND more work.
Let me clarify that yes, big families are alot of work, but we are not working alone.
We are working with our best friends, and it IS FUN!

It's fun to have a bunch of kids following you around asking questions at every turn.
It's fun knowing that no matter where you go, you will most likely never be alone.
It's fun being able to cuddle and kiss a sweet new little baby every couple of years and be able to watch them grow.

It's fun to make an assembly line to fill up a picnic basket for the kids to enjoy outside.
It's fun to see a wash line full of clothes and feel the satisfaction of being productive.
It's fun making a meal and hearing a course of praise around the supper table.
It's fun hearing a sweet little voice asking if they can help with whatever I am doing.
It's fun husking corn with 20 hands (both big and little!) helping.

It's fun being reminded a hundred times a day that I am loved.
It's fun when a little girl comes up to me and asks if she can give me a hug and a kiss.
It's fun being able to pick up a chubby little baby and squeaze his little cheeks.
It's fun planting a garden and knowing that in a couple of months our whole family will be enjoying the fruits of our labor... together.
It's fun seeing a child's eyes light up as they tell you a story about seeing new baby kittens or about watching a chick hatch.
It's fun to feel joy and love radiate all around me.

Sure it may be alot of work at times. But our life isn't all work. Our life isn't all changing dirty diapers and doing the laundry.
Our life is about love.
Our life is about sharing love.
And believe me when I say that....

It is fun!

Dream list #44

While I was crossing out the 90 day bible blast in my Dream List...  I saw that I had completed another one of the things on the list! About a month back Grandma asked me to cut her hair... bob style! I love my Grandma for acting so young and trying new styles :) And I also loved it that she trusted me to cut her hair that short! Especially since I had never done anything like that before!
So we searched through a magazine and found the kind of hairstyle that she wanted, and using the picture as a guide... I began to cut. I was scared and excited all at the same time!!
It turned out to be every bit as fun as I hoped that it would be and Grandma loved it... so I was happy :)

And then just the other day Mom asked me to cut her hair... short, kinda bob style :) So now I've completed one of my dreams twice! :) So exciting!

Don't you think they both just look so cute in their new do's??

My aMazing MoM!

My mom is amazing. Like seriously!
I love how she can keep our household running smoothly and efficiently, and come up with new and creative ways to do it.
Mom is so inspiring to me.
She is such an amazing example of what a godly wife and mother should be like.
I never hear her talk badly about Dad in front of me or anyone else.
I never hear her complain that she doesn't ever have time for herself.
Her life is her family and it means so much to me that she has put her all into making sure that we all are well taken care of.
She is so selfless in so many ways, often putting the needs of Dad and her kids above her own.
I love her so much... like WAY so much. And I just hope and pray that one day, I will be able to carry on the legacy that she has left me.
It's a legacy of love.
And it's what I'm privilaged to experience every day.

LOVE you mom!
Your girl,
Jenny

Yearning for God

Pslam 63 is my favorite Psalm. It portrays a beautiful picture of how we as Christians should be longing to know God and deeply desire to spend time with Him.
Thought I would share it with you today...

 1O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

11But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Dream list #23 and Music Monday (Blessings by Laura Story)

I've decided to blog every time I have completed one of the items in my Dream List. And give a review of how it went and if it was as exciting and rewarding as I thought it would be.

Yesterday I finished the 90 day bible blast.
While I probably won't do it again, it was a great experience.
There were times that it was a little bit frustrating trying to find the time to read all those chapters in one day, and there was a really frustrating time when I was seven days behind! But all in all it was fun.
The reason I wouldn't do it again is simply because I'm more of a "study" type person. It was hard to get loads out of what I was reading because I was always in a hurry to finish. When I read the word I like to write lots and think lots while I'm doing it, and while doing the bible blast, it was hard to do that because I was usually reading 10 - 20 chapters a day.

But it was good. There were so many things that I learned through it all.

I've decided to participate in Music Monday this week...
This is one of my new favourite songs.
