Sunday Fun ~ Music Monday

Yesterday we had the opportunity of having our Pastor Tony, his wife Joanna and their family over for the day. We had a blast riding horses, playing football and eating good food :p
Here are a couple of pictures from when we were riding....

Joanna, you and a horse look BEAUTIFUL together!!! Thanks for riding with us!

AND.... since it is Monday, I can't leave you without a song! This one is called Brothers and Sisters sung by the Sisters and the Booth brothers.
I heard this song for the first time today.... and LOVED it!!! Hope you like it too :)

Ohhhhh Strawberries!!!!

We've done lots of strawberry picking this week. Like 30 pails lots.
And somehow all of that strawberry picking leads to all of this strawberry cleaning and freezing.....

We have fun!!
But after eating all the many strawberries that we somehow happen to eat during the process, we tend to get a little ummm, well.... mmmhmmm......

Pictures from Sunday ~ Music Monday

Megan took some pictures from our day yesterday. I decided to share them.... cuz' really.... what good are pictures if you don't share em' right?? OF COURSE RIGHT!!! (ever watched "fiddler of the roof"??? ahem...)

After church we went down to the lake for a baptism.

While there one of our new friends (who also just celebrated the birth of his first son.... Congratulations David and Amber!!) offered to take a picture for us.....

A little while into umm.... picture-taking, we realized that something funny was going on....

Maria decided that she wanted to be part of our family (cuz' who wouldn't right??? :),
WE LOVE YOU MARIA!!

We headed to the park with some friends for a picnic, and we also played a MEAN game of football.
(Just FYI, MEAN usually means.... GOOD but in this instance it also means umm.... MEAN. Cause one of the reluctant participants ended up with a sprained ankle :( (PROMISE... it wasn't me!! :))
But it was FUNNNNNN!!!!!

Afterwards we cooled off with some freezies... love freezies!

I think Maria was enjoying them a tad bit to much :)

OHHHH and I MUSN'T forget!!!!! I got to drive a GRAND CARAVAN!!!!
Even though it IS a dodge... I'm cool with that, cuz' it wuz still FUN!!!
Thanks Joanna!!

After all the park fun... we headed over to friends house for a campfire. There are no pictures... I'm assuming that's because Meg was to busy laughing and having a good time like the rest of us :)
Thanks Mike and Maria for being brave enough to host our HUGE family!!!

Ah yes.... I just love Sunday's :)

Once again... today is Monday. So I'll leave you with a song.
This song is one of my FAVOURITE GVB songs. Once again starring my FAVOURITE GVB man. This song is from the first Gaither video that we heard, within a few weeks Ker and I had all the songs memorized and loved to sing them at the top of our lungs while doing the dishes. This song quickly became my favorite.... I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

Happy Birthday Brooke!!

July 7th was Brooke's 6th Birthday!!
I've been sick these last couple of days, so sadly I have not been able to blog about it... but better late then never right??

Brooke is a one of a kind little girl. She is so smart and spunky.
She seems to always have something funny to say and cracks me up because she cracks herself up so much! :)
Brooke is very helpful, she has a knack of figuring out what I need help with without me having to ask her to do it. She has a sweet servant's heart.
I love my baby sister, and I know that parents usually say this... and it maybe isn't the coolest thing to say.... but I can't believe how fast she is growing up!

Love you Brookie!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Once again... I stole these pictures from Megan... if you want to see more of the photo shoot that she did of Brooke on her birthday then go here.

Brooke asked me to make her a blue and black butterfly. I made it the day before and sadly was not able to see her face when she saw it for the first time because I was in bed sick :(

Ker Ker

Almost exactly a year ago, in June, Ker woke me in the middle of the night and asked me what side her appendix was on as she was having severe pains in her side, I told her that I didn't know... so she went and checked on Caleb (he has a scar from when had an appendicitis attack) and found out that it was the same side.
She told me that she had not been able to sleep for an hour because the pain was so bad. Ker isn't one to complain... about anything, so I knew it was serious!
About an hour later, I could hear that she was still in A LOT of pain, so I told her that we should go and wake up mom and dad.
They took her to the ER.
I went and woke Meg up and told her what was going on and then I started praying my heart out. I'm telling you, I have never felt so helpless in all my life. There was absolutely nothing I could do but pray and put the whole situation in God's hands.

Ker had a nightmarish ride to the hospital but by the time they were checked into the hospital, the pain had subsided some and the dr. said that she should be in much more pain if it was appendicitis. So they sent her home, telling her to come back if the pain didn't go away.
After 3 days of being in pain it just slowly went away... not for good, but for the time being. It kept coming and going. A couple days bad then a week of good... and on and on it went.
Ker had some tests done, but nothing showed up... and she started feeling better, so she quit with the tests and for a while everything was okay, not good but okay.

A couple of appointments were made for Ker when she was having her worse days, but every time the appointment time came, she was feeling amazing.... so every time they got cancelled, assuming that it was a sign that it just wasn't meant to be.

After a while, Ker figured out that she was having some of the same symptoms as one that has celiac disease, so for a couple of months, we all ran down that rabbit trail, everything was working out until Ker got really sick from doing a gall bladder cleanse in which she really didn't eat anything, definately not anything with gluten in it, and yet she was having all the same symptoms that she thought had come from eating gluten.

After MUCH research, Ker came to think that she had been in so much pain for this whole year because of gall bladder stones, she went through a series of cleanses in order to try to get this fixed without gall bladder surgery. But it wasn't working.

Finally after realizing that there were no other options, mom and dad brought Ker in to see the Dr. again. She had an ultrasound and they have now confirmed that she has an ovarian cyst. The Dr. says that she will probably just have to let it go away on it's own.
Mom and Ker are trying to find some natural cure for it, and we are all hoping that they can get it figured out soon.

The reason I'm telling you this story is because I wanted to brag on my sister a little. Ker has been through so much this past year. She has gone through a roller coaster of pain then feeling okay, then more pain, thinking she got it figured, and then realizing that she didn't have anything figured. And she has taken it all like a champ.
But the thing that makes me so proud of her is her faith in God. Without her saying a word, I can see that she trusts her Heavenly Father, just by the way she loves and lives.

We all want our Kerri back, but I'm sure that it is not more then she wants herself back. She never complains. She is so selfless. So selfless that she often puts me to shame.
I'm proud of her because she knows who loves her most.
She knows who is holding her hand through her valley.
She knows that no matter what happens, God is in control, and He will make everything work out for her good.

I love my Ker Bear, and I want more then anything to see her get well, and be able to resume her life normally again.
But I also know that God may have a bigger plan then we all know for Ker's life, and ours. Maybe an immediate "fix" isn't in His plan. I know that His ways are not always our ways.
I'm just so glad that we have someone that is bigger then all the problems that we will ever face.
God holds our world in His hands.
Every single thing that happens in our lives, happens for a reason. And I know that whatever happens....
God is in control, and if we truly believe that... then it is all that really matters.

Ya, so Ker Bear.... just wanted you to know, that you are such an inspiration to me. I'm so grateful that God made you to be my little sister, and even though I'm your big sister and I'm supposed to be teaching you things, you have in turn taught me so much, and caused my faith to grow in watching your faith shine.

♥ I love you beautiful girl and I'm so proud of you!! ♥

Love Jenny

Our weekend

We went to a conference this past weekend called "Higher Calling". It was a really encouraging and inspirational time, and the experience left me in awe of how AMAZING God is!

Saturday we had a pizza picnic in the park....

SWEET lil' Natalie

Jaden decided that sticks tasted better then pizza :)

And we were able to play FOOTBALL with some people from Lighthouse church. Meg snuck away from the game and took some pictures.... I love action pictures, especially football action pictures :)

WE-HAD-A-BLAST!!!!

On Sunday the preacher that was speaking that morning talked about how that no matter what situation we are in or what kind of valley we are going through, we can cling to a hope that things are going to get better.
Even if we have troubles and hardships our whole life long, and we never see the miracles that we are so longing for.
We can still hang on and keep fighting because when we have Christ in our hearts, we can look forward to an eternity in heaven.

As I was thinking about all of this I heard one of my favorite songs play on the radio called "Move" by Mercy Me.
Since it is Music Monday and since it fits with all the thoughts that are going through my head right now, that I would share it with you all.
It's a great reminder to me that I don't have to give up when I go through hardships. I know I'm not here on earth to have a good time and live a perfect life, I'm here to give God glory no matter what the situation may be.
I can live each day loving, praising and serving God with all that I am because I know that no matter what happens... there ARE going to be brighter days!!
