An update from Kentucky

Hello from Kentucky! We are at a hotel in Lexington, and I thought now would be a good time to give ya'll an update, and show some pictures of our trip so far.
We are having a BLAST!
We left bright an early at 4:00 in the morning... uh, huh... I did say four in the morning. :)
We wanted to get an early start because we had a LONG way to travel, 13 hours that is.
The ride was fun, the kids were REALLY good and we made some more amazing memories!

The kids were each given a little box full of fun things to do. It kept them busy for a LONG time!

Jaden spent much of the ride looking cute and sucking his fingers. What he really needed to do was sleep... but unfortunately he had decided that was something that he didn't want to do while driving...

The kids were each given some pipe cleaners to play with. Here are some of their creations...

This was one of the few times that Jade was actually sleeping peacefully! I told Meggy to snap a picture :)

Our faithful GPS nicknamed "Wendy" She only made us make a loop once!!

We finally arrived at our first stop, the Mayo's!
They were all very sweet to let us invade their home and spend the night. Thank you Mayo family!

The little girls clicked right away...

Chatting, chatting and chatting!

We left the Mayo's at around 10:00 in the morning and started our 10 hr. drive to Lexington.

Driving through Chicago was lots of fun... a first for me!

During the day the kids all got a bit more restless... and I don't blame them. They really all are doing SO well for having to sit in a van all day long!

Today we have only about a 3 hour drive before we arrive at Pigeon Forge where there is a resort that we will be staying at for a couple of days with our AMAZING friends the Muncks!
We are all SOOO very excited about seeing them once again!!!

To end this post off, here are some sweet pictures of my sweet family...

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the Pauls' family vacation!

Sweet pipe cleaner art! <3

Haha. Wendy the GPS. Hayden named ours Dora (like Dora the Explorer, which I've never watched, haha).

I share your love of driving through Chicago. Big cities are so cool...
