Little Brothers

I've got 6 little brothers, ahem... yes 6!

Funny thing is that I don't think about it being to crazy, because that is just how my life is.
Sure every once in a while I'll sit back and think about our family size (and about the number of BOYS we have in the fam.) and get all googly eyed...ummm, in a good way of course. :)

But I think it is GREAT fun!
Fact, I couldn't imagine it any other way, WHAT ON EARTH would I DO all day long without little sib's to run after??? Goodness... I think I would get bored :)

Little brothers do get just a tad bit annoying sometimes. And every once in a while often I get a little bit  really upset at them...
Like when they run around the house wrestling and yelling so loud that you can't hear the person next to you.
Or when they are SUPPOSED to be working on school, but rather they are working on seeing just how MAD they can make their little/big brother.
Or when one of them comes running in complaining of this one bugging that one... or this one hitting that one.
Or all the weird noises that boys seem to HAVE to make (you know...the annoying noises).
And then there are times when they just don't think they have a need to listen to their big sister.
Or when they don't do a job properly.
Yes there are times when I could scream (I promise you... I usually don't :)
But it is character training right?

When I think which one I would rather do without... ah...nope, wouldn't work. I need every single one of them... all 6 of them.

What would I do without the little boy that loves to cuddle, the little boy that will occasionally ASKS (gasp... yes I did say ASK) for jobs to do when he see's that he is needed, the little boy that is growing into a young man before my eyes, the little boy with FLAMING red hair that has the most ADORABLE smile and loves to make you laugh, the little boy that loves to give kisses.
The list goes on.

In those moments when I feel like a volcano ready to blow up at any minute, I'm learning (slowly but surely :) to remember that I'm blessed to have all these charming little brothers.
And I imagine what a ball we are ALL going to have once these little boys turn into young men.
And also how empty and drab life would feel without them.

Who do I want my little brothers to remember me as?
A grumpy bossy big sister, who never knew how to have any fun?
Or as a kind and loving sister, who doesn't let her little brothers push her around, yet at the same time is fun and understanding.

Life with little brothers is all about knowing when to laugh, when to give into those pleading brown eyes, when to be "firm", and when to let it slide, when to pretend that your a little kid again, and when to be the good example.

Being a big sister to all these little kiddoes isn't always easy, but the good times FAR outweigh the bad.
And the bad isn't as bad as I can make it to be.
I love ALL my brothers, and life just wouldn't be the same without them.
All 6 of them.

Great post girl!! And even though I don't live in the same house as your 6 brothers I wouldn't want to give up any of them either. And whenever you get a little annoyed at them just remember that I married one of them, and he is the best thing that ever happened to me, and some day the other boys will grow to be the just like him.
